Amanda gained a post-graduate certificate in education from London University. Having completed her teaching practice in a tough, inner-London school she moved back to Norfolk and has since taught Art & Design and Creative Writing.
She currently teaches on the Access to HE in Creative Writing at City College, Norwich. Amanda co-wrote this pioneering, first Access to higher education in Creative Writing in the UK.
Amanda also teaches for the Norfolk Museums Service, where she uses the collections as a starting point for art and creative writing projects, for learners from primary years to MA level. Most recently Amanda has worked as a one-to-one mentor for post-graduate students, through a collaborative project with the University of East Anglia and Norwich University College of the Arts.
Medieval Inspired Textile Banners
Amanda recently worked with Year 7 pupils to create Medieval style banners at Norwich Castle. Both girls and boys learnt how to stitch!
